Product Obsession - Revlon Lip Butters

I have completely fallen for Revlon Lip Butters. This is my kind of lip product! Ultra moisturizing, smooth, creamy, and supple... with maximum color payoff (depending on the color).

This product provides the ease of a lipgloss, the function of a lip balm, and the pigment of a lipstick.

I picked it up in 5 of the 20 shades:

From Left to Right:
Fig Jam, Berry Smoothie, Lollipop, Raspberry Pie, Tutti Frutti

Viola Davis at the 2012 Oscars

Can we just take a moment to reflect on the absolutely-disgusting-beauty that is Viola Davis?

She looked AMAZING at the Oscars. She was giving EVERYTHING.  What's makes this moment even more special is that she was slaying chicks with the utmost confidence while rocking her natural hair (the first time at a big event). That auburn TWA against her cocoa brown skin and emerald dress was a true fashion moment. Take note.

Woman...you betta WERK!!!!

Finding My Light...

While experimenting with Maybelline Color Tattoo in my favorite shade (Pomegranate Punk), nude lips (Mac Spirit), and a subtle kiss of blush...... I found myself having a "good lighting" moment.

Here's my attempt at "smizing" and finding my angle. There's no way to be sure but I think Tyra would have been proud. lol

Length Check and Bantu Knots

Hey Suga!

I did something drastic...

I blew out my hair!

Anyone who knows me will know how big of a deal this is. I haven't had heat in my hair in YEARS. But I wanted to trim my ends and do a bit of a length check.

Here's my hair blown out with medium heat and Karastase heat protection.

(Length Check - Front)

I really wanted to mix things up so I figured I'd take advantage of my stretched out hair and do a few bantu knots.

I twisted my hair into about 18 bantu knots and slept with a bonnet over night.

(Bantu Knots)

(My sexy bonnet swag, lol)

Let me just say that those darn knots are not easy to sleep on. My scalp was literally screaming for some TLC by the time I woke up.  My hair, on the other hand, didn't look half bad!

I really loved the fullness and the non-uniformed curl pattern that the knots gave me.

(The Morning After)

However, by the end of the day my hair was substantially BIGGER than were it started. And because I didn't use a setting lotion, it was way too soft and fluffy to maintain any texture over night.

(End of the Day)

Needless to say, it'll probably be in one of my go-to up-dos for work tomorrow.

All in all, it was definitely fun to let my hair down for a while!
